Joseph A. Vanderhulst

Joseph A. Vanderhulst practices in the areas of campaign finance law, election law, nonprofit organization, constitutional law, civil litigation, and appellate practice.

Mr. Vanderhulst has handled matters in federal or state courts in over a dozen states. His experience extends to administrative bodies as well, having represented clients in matters before the state boards of election, the IRS, and the FEC. Mr. Vanderhulst’s background also includes advising organizations—along with federal, state, and local candidates for elected office—regarding campaign finance, lobbying, and nonprofit regulatory compliance.

Mr. Vanderhulst’s practice areas encompass a wide variety of issues. These include, among others: the First Amendment; the Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses; public access to government meetings and records; voting rights; campaign finance laws; initiative and referendum processes; separation of powers; federalism; and other federal and state constitutional and statutory questions.

Mr. Vanderhulst received his law degree from Ave Maria School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Ave Maria Law Review. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Ave Maria University.

Joseph and his wife live in Indianapolis, Indiana with their six children.
